Boronadu is the oldest village, the origin place of Nias People. This village is a witness the birth of Nias Tribes. This village has a history of grandeur of the past, priceless story. This can be proved by the discovery of megalithic cultural artifacts aged three thousand to five thousand years BC, artifacts relic of Nias ancestors.
Visiting Boronadu, we can see clearly an elongated form of its settlement. The houses are facing each other, a common feature of settlement layout in Nias Selatan. The village roads are made by cone block.
Menhir, stone table and other megalithic relic’s artifacts can also be found in this village. A pyramid-shaped monument is right in the middle of the village yard. According to the old belief, the monument is the first descendant of the Nias people. From Teluk Dalam to Boronadu village in Boronadu subdistrict, it takes about an hour and half, traveling about 52.6 Km far.
This site can only be reached by land both by using car or motorcycle. Go to Boronadu, see the magnificence of megalithic artefacts, hear and explore the stories of ancient civilizations along with existing myths and legends, presumably to be an interesting treasury of knowledge, something that can be learned in life.
